Here again is the maths@njahmi newsletter bearing the maths@njahmi End Of Year Competition (MEOYC) updates.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the MEOYC Mathematics Competition, an exciting event aimed at testing creativity and critical thinking in the field of mathematics. Whether you're a budding mathematician or simply passionate about problem-solving, this competition is your chance to shine and be recognized. The deadline to register is Sunday the 21st of December, 2024, at 11:59pm GMT + 1 time.

OUR HISTORY

MEOYC is hosting its 5th international session this year, with winners over the years being from Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana and HongKong. The global space of this competition makes it more competitive and entertaining for the competitors.

OUR PURPOSE

The competition seeks to challenge your ability to think critically in the field of Mathematics, how you can analyze and approach complex and indirect mathematics problems, how you can think creatively and concisely in the environment of mathematics.

COMPETITION SCOPE

The competition being international, assesses the competitors in the fields of:

  • Geometry
  • Number Theory
  • Calculus & Functions
  • Algebra

These topics will cover a wider scope of other sub topics like Series and Sequences, trigonometry, and a few others.

The competition isn't structured for a particular level of studies, but it is made in such a way that someone who can think critically in Mathematics can score a 100%. This means a GSS student or a Form 4 or Grade 9 student can partake and emerge a winner.

  • A conversion rate is done from USD to home currency, by the applicant. Depending on what country you're from. Message an admin to help you in this task.

    ABOUT THE COMPETITION

    The competition holds in TWO PARTS,

    â–¶ The first PART (PART 1) is an MCQ(MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS) which is taken online, from home. The first stage asseses your Aptitude, Accuracy and Critical Thinking. It holds for 2hrs, and covers 40% of the competition. It will take place on the 27th of December 2024, at 10:00am, GMT + 1 time.

    â–¶ The second PART (PART 2) is Structural and lasts for 3 days. This covers 60% of the competition, from the 28th of December 2024, at 11:00am GMT + time, to the 30th of December 2024, at 11:00am GMT + 1 time. You answer from home, at your comfort. How solutions will be submitted will be communicated to those who are registered.

    WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

    📌 To be eligible for this competition, you MUST posses a national ID or a school ID that carries your country information and personal information. The maths@njahmi board of admins will do the assessments and validate your eligibility.

    HOW TO REGISTER

    You can register via any maths@njahmi admin. The registration fee is 5,000 XAF for applicants from Cameroon, and $8 USD (sending fee already included) for foreign competitors. Upon regestration, the maths@njahmi admin will add you up to the forum that will prep you till the competition day, where past MEOYC questions and solutions will be shared with you.

    To know if you're registering to the right admin, you only register to any of the numbers on the flyer. Nothing else. Any other person communicating with you will refer you to any of the 5 contacts on our flyer to be registered and placed in the right forum, and prepped for the competition.
